It's almost here! Shark Week officially starts August 10th! I’ve always looked forward to this time of year. Probably because I’ve been obsessed with sharks ever since my Grandpa won 100 free video rentals from our local video-store-slash-washer-dryer-retailer (it was the early 80’s after all) and he let me use about 90 of them to rent JAWS over and over again… A couple years later, my best friend and I won our 5th grade science fair with a project highlighted by a handmade papier-mâché shark with shark egg included (fashioned out of a newspaper bag, a ping pong ball, and some food coloring). As part of the preparation for the fair, I remember reading every single book that our tiny library had to offer on sharks. That love of sharks has never really left. I constantly find myself gravitating toward any shark-related movies, books, artwork, anything... I’m also happy to report that my daughter shares my excitement when it comes to Shark Week. With that in mind, I thought I'd do something special for the occasion this year. Just for fun, I’ll be having a drawing for a shark inspired print of mine. The print measures 16x20 inches and is made with beautiful artisan paper. The actual sketch is one of my antique diary sketches and was inspired by a quote that I found in one of the diaries:
"Saw a shark - not man-eating variety."
Please visit my Facebook page to enter the drawing. Just “like” my page and leave a comment under the contest announcement. I will draw one winner on August 10th! If you're not into Facebook, just leave a comment here and I’ll include you in the drawing.
One entry per person. The print will be rolled and mailed in a cardboard tube via USPS First Class Mail.
