I recently learned about the site, Clementine Daily. I have been a long time fan of Erin Loechner and Design For Mankind has been a source of inspiration for years. Erin is the executive director of Clementine Daily and teams up with some incredible folks to create the site. Clementine Daily "celebrates the beauty of today’s multi-faceted, modern woman." After exploring, I have found it incredibly positive, uplifting, and a feast for the eyes and mind.
I have been wanting to share a certain article for a while now. This one has stuck with me on a daily basis. It's written by Natalie Lynn Borton and is titled "4 Ways To Speak With Kindness". I must say that while it's a short write up with just 4 tips, it's mighty influential. My favorite tip is #2. It explains how to give character compliments:
Give character compliments. Albeit nice, telling a friend she looks pretty doesn’t quite have the staying power as a kind word about her character. Is she generous? Loving? Compassionate? Confident? Lively? Brilliant? Tell her! Those types of compliments go a long way. Even better, they’re contagious. In our experience, women who are given meaningful compliments tend to copy the behavior and do the same. It’s a win all around!
I remember reading that tip and having one of those aha! moments. This fast world needs more of #2. I have decided to hold onto those words and use them to slow down a bit.
